Notice of Public Hearings April 23, 2018

Notice is hereby given that Informal Hearings and Public Hearings will be held on Monday, April 23, 2018 at 7:00PM in Council Chambers at Fernie City Hall, located at 501 – 3rd Avenue, Fernie BC so that Council may hear representations from persons who believe their interest in property is affected by the proposed Animal Control Bylaw No. 2346 and proposed amendments to Zoning Bylaw No. 1750 and Official Community Plan Bylaw 2231:

 Bylaw No.2342: Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 2231, Amendment No. 7, Bylaw No. 2342, 2018.

Purpose:  To update the Official Community Plan bylaw to include the lands in West Fernie following the recent municipal boundary extension.

 

Bylaw No. 2341: Zoning Bylaw No. 1750, Amendment No. 199, Bylaw No. 2341, 2018.

Purpose:  To update the zoning bylaw to include the lands in West Fernie following the recent municipal boundary extension.

 

Bylaw No. 2346: Animal Control Bylaw No. 2346

Purpose: The purpose of Animal Control Bylaw No. 2346 is to consolidate the present animal regulations contained in the Dog Licencing, Regulation & Impounding bylaw and the Zoning Bylaw, and introduce new regulations regarding the keeping of backyard chickens and ducks in West Fernie as proposed in Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 2341.

Bylaw No. 2343: Official Community Plan No. 2231, Amendment No. 8, Bylaw No. 2343, 2018.

Purpose:  To eliminate the prohibition contained in the Official Community Plan (OCP) regarding the use of secondary suites and secondary dwelling units as Short-Term Rentals (STR) in the City of Fernie. This change would allow Council to consider bylaw amendments to permit short-term rentals (STR) in secondary suites and secondary dwelling units.

DVP NO. 416 (441 6th Avenue)

PURPOSE: To vary the minimum front yard setback as set out in Section 4.2.1.4 of Zoning Bylaw No. 1750 from 7.5m to 4.28 metres along a portion of the east property line only. To vary the maximum eave projection as set out in Section 3.8.4(b) of Zoning Bylaw No. 1750 from 1.0m to 3.32m along a portion of the east property line only.
