Notice of Public Hearing March 12, 2018

Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing will be held on Monday, March 12, 2018 at 7:00PM in Council Chambers at Fernie City Hall, located at 501 – 3rd Avenue, Fernie BC so that Council may hear representations from persons who believe their interest is affected by proposed amendments to Zoning Bylaw No. 1750 and Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 2231:

Official Community Plan (OCP) Bylaw No. 2231, Amendment No. 6, 2017

All properties within the “Highway Corridor” OCP Land-Use Area Designation (Figure 2)

 PURPOSE:  To amend Section 9-B.2 Highway Corridor, Policy Statement 9-B.2.5 of the OCP:

From: Prohibit light industrial uses in areas designated Highway Corridor. To: Prohibit light industrial uses in areas designated Highway Corridor, except breweries and distilleries.

This amendment will allow distilleries and breweries to be included as permitted uses in areas designated Highway Corridor in the OCP.

1441 – 7th Avenue (Figure 1)

 PURPOSE:  To amend the text of Section Permitted Uses of the C-HWY – Highway Commercial zone in Zoning Bylaw No. 1750, by adding the following permitted use:

.32 in addition to the permitted uses herein, on Lot 1, District Lot 4588, Kootenay District, Plan NEP68219 only, Distillery.

The amendment will allow a distillery to operate at the location civically known as 1441 – 7th Avenue.
