BC Wildfire Update

Over the weekend, there were multiple new fires started across the province.  The BC Wildfire Service is dealing with a number of new starts across the Fire Centre, including the East Kootenay.

We all have a major role to play in reporting new fires.

If you see a fire or burning violation, please call 1-800-663-5555 or *5555 on a cellphone.

Although there is no current risk to the City of Fernie, fires can change dramatically within little time.  We remind our residents and visitors to be prepared in the event of an emergency. You may stop by the Fire Hall to pick up emergency preparedness brochures and information.
