Hwy 3 Reopens After Grass Fires

Hwy 3 has just reopened 2km North of Fernie after three grass fires caused the shutdown.
Fernie Fire Rescue was called at 12:15 pm when the small blazes were spotted on the side of the highway.
Crews were able to put out the small fires within 45 minutes. It is believed that the fires may have been caused by sparks from something dragging on the pavement.
Thanks to everyone who contributed to getting these fires dealt with quickly.
