Gas Leak in North Maintown

Update 4:50 pm. The issue is resolved and residents are allowed to return home.
A gas leak on 14th Street, between 1st and 2nd Avenue, has resulted in the evacuation of homes in the area.
Contractors working in the area, and staff at Isabella Dicken Elementary have also been evacuated.
Fernie Fire Department and Fortis BC crews are on scene dealing with the issue.
