Town Hall Meeting Report
May 10, 2016
In September Council initiated a new Public Engagement strategy to inform Strategic Planning and Budget discussions leading to adoption of the Five Year Financial Plan and the 2016 Tax Rate Bylaw - both adopted May 9, 2016. Following a public survey, Council chose four Table Topics identified by the public as important issues for discussion at a Town Hall meeting held March 16, 2016. The objective of the meeting was to reach as many and diverse a public as possible, ensure partipants understood why they were being asked to participate in the event, to provide an opportunity for public to voice concerns, and to provide enough information to participants so they could make informed judgements.
The summary report provides an overview of the event format, information materials on display, a summary of the key trends noted in discussions, Council's perspective of the evening, a discussion summary and comments provided by participants via an exit survey. See the full report for all the details.
