Temporary Treated Effluent Discharge to Elk River

The City of Fernie wishes to advise area residents that in order to dispose of excessive amounts of storm water in the sanitary sewer collection system due to recent rains it is necessary to extend the temporary discharge of treated effluent to the Elk River.
This discharge began Tuesday, October 11, 2016 and will be extended through to Tuesday, November 15, 2016 in accordance with the Ministry of Environment operating permit.
