Emergency Social Services Volunteer Training

FREE Emergency Services training is offered by the Elk Valley and South Country Emergency Program Service.  Two different training sessions are offered for interested community members: 

What: Emergency Social Services Site Management (EMRG-1671)
When: September 17, 2016 (9am - 4pm)
Who Should Attend: ESS Persons who have a lead role in reception centre or group lodging locations.
What: Managing Volunteer Programs (EMRG-1674)
When: September 18, 2016 (9am - 4pm)
Who Should Attend: Anyone involved in a volunteer organization, Search & Rescue or ESS that use volunteers for events or tasks.

ESS Site Management:  Learn about the roles and responsibilities of Emergency Social Services (ESS) management team. This course provides participants with an opportunity to perform relevant activities and processes.

Managing Volunteer Programs:  Emergency management professionals and volunteer programs learn the fundamentals of volunteer management including recruiting, managing, and retaining volunteers. It also addresses risk management and liability, worker care, volunteer management software and handling challenging volunteers.

Location for the training sessions are yet to be determined.  There is no fee and lunch will be provided.  If you are interested in attending please complete the registration form and email it by August 29, 2016 to stone@rdek.bc.ca.
