Bears in our Community

As a community, the responsiblity to ensure that we are not attracting bears and other wildlife into City limits falls on all of us!  This year let's show that we care! That we want to protect our community and the natural beauty all around us!  

Every one of us needs to manage our garbage and other attractants responsibily!  Do not store garbage on carports or under decks that will attract hungry bears. If you have  garbage with no where to store it, please make a daily trip to the Transfer Station on Highway 3 (it's FREE).  WE are the solution and WE are the problem when it comes to wildlife in our town, our neighborhoods and our backyards!

Residents will notice that the City has added carabiners (spring loaded clamps) to secure lids on all City owned bins. Residents using the bins are asked to ensure they are secured following use.  The public is advised it is unlawful to leave refuse piled on or around the bins if they are full.
