Public Input on Amendment to 2014-2018 Financial Plan

The Council for the City of Fernie will be considering adoption of the 2014 - 2018 Five Year Financial Plan Amendment Bylaw No. 2265, 2014 on Monday, November 24, 2014. This amendment proposes to:

• reallocate current funding from the downtown surveillance cameras; and
• to increase capital works expenditures and the East Kootenay Energy Diet subsidy.

Section 165.2 of the Community Charter, allows for the Financial Plan may be amended at any time.  However, under section 166, Council must undertake a process of public consultation regarding the proposed financial plan before it is adopted.

Council encourages the public to review this information and if desired, to make representation to Council at the November 24, 2014 meeting either in person or in writing. Please see the links below for copies of the notice, bylaw amendment and staff report, and summary of proposed amendments.

Written submissions can be mailed, hand delivered or emailed to City Hall. The City will only guarantee that emails sent to cityhall@fernie.ca will form part of the Council agenda.  The deadline for written submission is noon on Friday, November 21, 2014.
