April 22, 2014
The City of Fernie is providing two opportunities for residents of Fernie to express an opinion on the 2014-2018 Financial Plan on Monday, April 28, 2014:

The provisional 2014 Financial Plan sets an average municipal tax increase of 4.0% in accordance with the 2012 - 2016 Five Year Financial Plan Bylaw No. 2184, adopted by Council on April 23, 2012, for a 4.0% increase in each of the five years. In 2014, municipal property taxes will provide approximately $5 million of Fernie's overall $20 million budget, or 25% of total revenues.
Council encourages the public to review this information and if desired, to make representation to Council at the April 28, 2014 meeting either in person or in writing. A copy of the corresponding bylaw will be available on the City’s website at www.fernie.ca on or before 4:00PM on Friday, April 25, 2014.
