The City of Fernie is looking for a fulltime Operator 3 (Certified) to work in the Public Works department. Under the general supervision of the Operations Supervisor this position performs a variety of duties related to the collection and treatment of wastewater.
The Operator 3 will be responsible for maximizing the performance of the wastewater collection and treatment facilities, troubleshooting and resolving problems, performing various wastewater tests and making adjustments as appropriate, and ensuring the minimization of all safety and health risks and environmental concerns. In addition to these responsibilities, this position will also operate various large and small equipment (as required) to cover manpower shortages and/or peak demands.
