The City of Fernie, in partnership with the District of Elkford and the District of Sparwood, is looking to fill the position of Human Resources Specialist. Under the direction of the partner Chief Administrative Officers, the position will primarily be responsible to maintain accurate, up-to-date, and complete personnel records. This position will monitor human resources related documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and relevance to business processes.
This role will also advise employees and managers on the interpretation of human resources policies compensation and benefit programs, and collective agreements. This position will work the equivalent of three (3) days per week at the City of Fernie and one (1) day per week in each of the District of Elkford and District of Sparwood.
The Human Resources Specialist must possess the following:
- Degree or diploma in a related field;
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP);
- Certification(s) and/or license(s) appropriate to industry.
