The Ministry of Environment, in collaboration with the Interior Health Authority, has issued a smoky skies advisory for the South Okanagan and southern areas of the Boundary and Kootenay regions.
  • Water Restrictions in Effect

    Residents are advised that due to extreme summer temperatures and dry conditions the City has implemented a Watering Restriction Program effective immediately. These restrictions apply to lawn watering and other uses. Residents are urged to adhere to these restrictions until further notice.

  • Fall Registration Fair

    Fernie Leisure Services will be hosting the annual Fall Registration Fair from 6:00pm to 8:30pm at the Fernie Curling Club, 1062 Highway 3 on September 9 and 10th, 2015.  Come down with the children and find out what recreation programs are on offer for the fall season.

  • National Western Regional Mine Rescue Competition 12th Biennial

    September 11 - 12, 2015 6:00am - 11:45pm

    The National Western Regional Mine Rescue Competition (NWRMRC) Twelfth Biennial will be held in Fernie on September 11 & 12, 2015.  This skills testing competition requires intense training and numerous hours of dedication to hone skills and build a strong team attitude!  Teams from across the Canada and northwestern US participate.  Come out prepared to be impressed!
